What’s better than a little summer knitting, right? But sometimes those big bulky afghans or sweaters can be pretty hot to work on. Enter the tiny project! If you are not a sock knitter, then fashion doll knitting may be just for you!
Please welcome my latest pattern release, the Tangerine Fire Toque and Scarf. This pattern features an easy to follow and/or modify textural pattern of alternating knits and purls worked in Malabrigo Lace, but would look just as lovely in your leftover laceweight bits. It’s an easy, yet interesting stitch and while it might take some getting used to tiny knitting (if it’s new to you), you won’t be sorry. Seeing stitches at a near realistic scale is just so cool!
This set fits most 11 – 12” (27.9 – 30.5 cm) fashion dolls with proportionately sized head. Additional sizes are easily created by working more/fewer full pattern and/or round repeats, or changing yarn/needle size. Keep in mind that if you do modify the pattern, it will no longer look like the sample and will likely no longer be to scale.
Gauge is VERY IMPORTANT with most any project, but is critical with this one. You will likely need to work more tightly than you are used to in order to get gauge. Always match to the pattern gauge, not ball band or manufacturer suggested gauge!
As always, this downloadable, PDF pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit to reduce the potential for error.
