This pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit to reduce the potential for error.

SIZE(S):

One size. Gently blocked scarf measures approx 80” (203 cm) long and 9” (23 cm) wide. Length is adjustable by working more/fewer pattern repeats.

CHARTED/WRITTEN:

The pattern is fully charted, but also includes complete written directions so the ability to read a chart is not necessary to work this pattern.

GAUGE:

19 sts/15 rows to 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) in cable pattern stitch, blocked.

The scarf is cast on and worked flat.

To work this pattern, you will need to know:

  • Cable cast-on
  • Cable stitches – 5/5RC, 5/5RPPC
  • Increase and decrease stitches – K2TOG, RLI
  • Knit and purl stitches
  • Slipped stitches

YARN:

Allow approx 475 – 500 yards (434 – 457 m) super bulky weight yarn.

Avoid highly variegated yarn as it will obscure the cable pattern.

NEEDLES:

US 10 (6 mm) straight or circular needle
US 11 (8 mm) straight or circular needle
Or any size needed to obtain correct gauge.

NOTIONS:

Tapestry/blunt yarn needle
T-pins (optional, for blocking)
